Aura Cacia Rosehip Oil Review by Christine Brown

Organic rosehip (Rosa canina) oil is well known for its prevention of long-term facial skin damage. To use pure rosehip seed oil on the face, simply dot the oil on skin after cleansing, as a serum. Rosehip oil contains trans-retinoic acid which is unique and may be the constituent that is so effective on the skin.

Aura Cacia Rosehip Oil is made from cold-pressed rose fruit (hip) seeds, which contain essential fatty acids known for skin conditioning. Rosehip seed oil can be combined with macadamia oil for stability and even better hydration in body and facial care products.

Though originally native to Europe, Aura Cacia Rosehip Oil comes from Chile. Rosa canina was introduced to Chile in the 1800s and rapidly naturalized in the southern Andes. It now grows throughout the region and has been harvested there for 100 years. The harvest season is relatively short but intense. A special tool and protective clothing are used for harvesting the hips from the thorny bushes. Harvested hips are dried, then the seeds are separated and ground up before being cold pressed into the beautifully colored rosehip seed oil.

I purchased this oil for $14.00 at a local grocery store and I have been using it on my neck, face and hands for the past three weeks. I noticed that it is fairly quick to absorb and after it does it does not feel the least bit greasy. My skin tends to be more sensitive and on the dry side in the cooler weather months, and I use this product during the day and right before bed. It's a great product because it is low-comedogenic carrier oils, meaning they won't clog pores.

Worth every penny.
